Odisha Bhawan in Navi Mumbai is turning out to be a real cultural and emotional exchange centre for the Odias residing in the Capital City of Maharastra.

One after another Cultural Meet is being organized in the newly opened State Centre for Hospitality, thanks to the initiative of few enthusiastic organizers and the pro-active officials of the Bhawan.

So a major cultural extravaganza, Puspuni Bhetghat, Mumbai - 2011 was celebrated here by Paschim Odisha Parivaar - Mumbai (POP-Mumbai) with lots of enthusiasm on 6 February.

The function started with offering Puja to Maa Samaleswari, Lord Jagannath and Lord Siddhi Vinayak the by senior member of the organisation, Satyanarayan Panda with chanting of mantras.
Arpita, Swapnil Wedhikar, Suman Mishra (Wedhikar), S K Parida sang few Odia bhajans, Sambalpuri and Hindi movie songs making the program lively.

Singer and Dhol specialist Hruda Ranjan Pradhan, his team with great support from Mantu Mahapatra sang several popular Sambalpuri songs which was enjoyed by the audience.

Members also participated in the Sambalpuri folk dance (Rangabati, Dalkhai etc.) played by the DJ.

About 175 people from various fields residing in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai attended the Bhetghat.

On the whole Puspuni -2011 was a grand success with larger participation than the previous year.

Nuakhai Bhetghat-2011 will be organized and a souvenir with articles on Sambalpuri art & culture and contact details of members will be published on the occasion.

The core committee and volunteers promised to make the Nuakhai Bhetghat - Mumbai 2011, a Grand Event, said Dipak Pujari.
